About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support engineers and designers working on HVAC, plumbing, process, fuels, and other mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects
- Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and other project documentation
- Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, and related mechanical systems
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Gain hands-on exposure to mechanical design principles, load calculations, technical software, energy efficiency, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery
- Learn how engineering principles, design tools, codes, and technical standards are applied to real projects
- Learn how system loads, equipment selections, layouts, specifications, and project deliverables are developed
- Learn how mechanical systems are coordinated with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project disciplines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Completion of relevant engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, HVAC, or technical coursework
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office applications
- Preferred: Internship, co-op, or project experience related to mechanical or building systems design
- Preferred: Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software
- Preferred: Involvement in ASHRAE, ASME, or related professional organizations
