About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead evaluation of complex and novel accounting transactions
  • Document accounting conclusions in memos suitable for auditor and SEC scrutiny
  • Own preparation and review of 10-K and 10-Q content, including technical disclosures
  • Partner with external auditors and outside counsel to defend technical positions
  • Build and run the technical accounting framework, including policy library, memo standards, transaction intake and triage, and review controls
  • Anticipate impacts of new accounting standards and regulatory changes
  • Coach and develop a direct report
  • Work with Legal, FP&A, Revenue Accounting, and equity compensation partners to resolve issues and align accounting positions
  • Work closely with the Accounting Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on experience preparing 10-K and 10-Q filings
  • CPA license
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Track record of sound technical accounting judgment, demonstrated through authored memos and resolved issues
  • Ability to work through issues with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience managing and developing people
  • Experience supporting an IPO, an S-1, or a company's first years of public reporting is a plus
  • Experience designing technical accounting policies and processes at a high-growth company is a plus
  • Must work onsite in the San Francisco office three days per week
  • Must be located in the SF Bay Area
  • Must answer whether employment visa sponsorship will be required
