About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare surfaces of machines and manufactured products for powder coating
  • Clean grease and dirt from products
  • Clean application equipment
  • Remove rust from metal using acid, wire brush, or steel wool
  • Hang materials on a trolley to move them into the coating booth
  • Label finished materials with correct part numbers for delivery to stock
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be familiar with the storage, care, handling, and use of breathing equipment
  • Must complete and pass respiratory program prior to performing tasks related to mixing or applying chemicals or powder
  • Must maintain a passing status in the respiratory program
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Required close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risks, vibration, and other listed workplace hazards
