About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation and infrastructure projects under the supervision of senior staff
- Support the development of stormwater management reports, drainage studies, and technical memoranda
- Assist with storm drain, culvert, and erosion and sediment control design tasks
- Utilize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, StormCAD, or similar tools
- Assist in the preparation of drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD
- Format reports, calculations, and specifications to support project documentation
- Support project file management, including organization of electronic documents, printing, and scanning as needed
- Gain exposure to permitting processes, including NPDES and local or state stormwater requirements
- Utilize company-wide and department-specific software to complete assigned tasks
- Gain practical experience and broad exposure to STV’s organizational structure through diverse assignments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater management, or water resources engineering
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship
- Ability to work a minimum of three days per week in the office
- Preference given to candidates who can participate for at least three months and work full-time
