About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Norfolk County Council’s Therapeutic Services, Fostering Team
- Work across the County of Norfolk
- Work alongside social work teams in an integrated, trauma-informed service
- Offer specialist support to foster carers and respective social workers
- Provide clinical advice and consultation to social workers and foster carers
- Undertake direct work when a young person’s presentation or needs indicate intervention is required
- Support foster carers caring for children stepping down from residential care to family-based care
- Assist in devising individualized support plans for children, young people and foster carers
- Improve outcomes for children, young people and foster carers through a relationship-based, purposeful approach
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience of working with children and families
- Passion for supporting children and families in effecting sustained change
- Ability to work alongside social work teams in an integrated, trauma-informed service
- Ability to offer specialist support to foster carers and social workers
- Ability to provide clinical advice and consultation to social workers and foster carers
- Ability to undertake direct work when intervention is required
- Ability to support foster carers helping children step down from residential care to family-based care
- Ability to devise support plans based on the individual needs of children, young people and foster carers
