About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage a team of specialist Pension Leads
  • Provide expert technical guidance across TPS and LGPS administration
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor multiple project workstreams
  • Manage risks, dependencies and delivery milestones
  • Report progress, outcomes and performance to senior stakeholders
  • Drive process improvement, operational efficiency and service resilience
  • Ensure compliance with pension legislation, scheme regulations and organisational policies
  • Collaborate with payroll, pensions, HR, finance, systems support and external pension providers
  • Support development of sustainable processes, controls and operational procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience within pension administration
  • In-depth technical knowledge of the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS), Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), or both schemes
  • Experience leading specialist teams, projects or service improvement programmes
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Experience developing and improving pension administration processes and controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities
  • Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
  • Good broadband connectivity
  • Significant pension administration experience is required
