About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support risk-based internal audit assignments from planning and fieldwork through to reporting
  • Work with experienced team members to understand client requirements, risks and objectives
  • Assist with planning and delivering internal audits across business areas
  • Participate in client interviews, walkthroughs and testing
  • Identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to clear audit reports and practical recommendations
  • Attend client meetings and communicate with stakeholders
  • Build professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Develop understanding of governance, risk management and internal controls
  • Take increasing responsibility for assignments
  • Collaborate with senior Risk & Assurance team members and support the wider team
  • Contribute to development of the Risk & Assurance service
  • Undertake training and professional development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Interest in risk, assurance, internal audit, governance or controls
  • Some previous internal audit or assurance experience may be helpful but is not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Confidence asking questions and engaging with clients and colleagues
  • Organised and able to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Ability to take feedback and develop skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively while developing independent working skills
  • Has, is working towards, or is interested in pursuing a relevant professional qualification such as CMIIA, ACA or ACCA
  • Prepared to travel to client sites across London and the Eastern Region
  • Hybrid working supported
