About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work on private client tax advisory projects for key clients
- Attend client meetings
- Write reports and prepare technical analysis
- Involve specialists within the team where appropriate to prepare or review tax advice
- Manage a portfolio of clients
- Handle tax compliance for the client portfolio, including annual tax returns and associated tax advice
- Identify and resolve technical issues or escalate as appropriate
- Provide capital gains tax advice and planning concerning business sales
- Advise on inheritance tax rules affecting pensions, business assets, and agricultural assets
- Implement company structures for investment companies or family businesses
- Assist with complex tax calculations and returns
- Deal with advice relating to trusts and 10-year charges
- Work with support from tax partners and directors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience working within Private Client Tax
- Strong knowledge of inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and estate planning
- Experience managing both advisory and compliance work for high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- CTA qualified is advantageous; ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualified candidates with relevant private client tax experience will also be considered
- Candidates with a strong compliance background who are looking to develop their advisory experience are encouraged to apply
- The role is based in the Crawley, Brighton, or Chichester offices
