About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute Summit's procurement and vendor management strategy
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors, OEMs, distributors, and service providers
  • Lead negotiations for hardware, software, cloud services, maintenance agreements, and professional services
  • Partner with Finance, Delivery, Sales, and executive leadership on technology investments and operational initiatives
  • Optimize spend, consolidate vendors, improve contract terms, and maximize technology investment value
  • Establish vendor performance expectations and metrics for supplier quality, responsiveness, and business value
  • Oversee the contract lifecycle, including renewals, pricing reviews, vendor performance, and relationship management
  • Establish and improve procurement policies, standards, and governance
  • Analyze purchasing trends, contract commitments, and supplier performance to provide recommendations
  • Lead, coach, and direct the Procurement team
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, supplier capabilities, and market trends
  • Deliver strategic supplier partnerships, competitive commercial agreements, scalable procurement processes, spend and renewal visibility, supplier accountability, and informed purchasing decisions
  • Decide procurement strategies, vendor selection recommendations, negotiation strategies, procurement governance, supplier performance plans, initiative priorities, team workload, and Procurement team development priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience leading procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management within a technology, managed services, cloud, or enterprise IT environment
  • Experience building long-term vendor relationships and negotiating value-creating outcomes
  • Understanding of enterprise technology purchasing, including hardware, software licensing, cloud services, and professional services
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational realities
  • Ability to build credibility across technical, operational, financial, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to use data to support recommendations, evaluate supplier performance, and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Confidence communicating, navigating competing priorities, and solving complex business challenges
  • Experience negotiating Microsoft licensing, CSP, Azure, or other enterprise technology agreements
  • Experience managing strategic technology vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Equinix, Digital Realty, HPE, or similar partners
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management, procurement systems, or ERP platforms
  • Experience negotiating enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, or managed services agreements
  • Familiarity with managed services, cloud infrastructure, or data center environments
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPSD, PMP, or similar is a bonus
