About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data analytics strategy aligned with Canadian Operations objectives
  • Evaluate and prioritize analytics opportunities to maximize business value
  • Partner with Sun Life Canada’s Client Experience Office on Canada’s data and analytics strategy
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure analytics function performance and business impact
  • Lead the business intelligence function delivering operational dashboards, scorecards, and trending reports
  • Manage reporting intake and prioritization from diverse stakeholders
  • Create self-serve analytics capabilities for power users
  • Transform complex operational data into visualizations for executive reporting and strategic planning
  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse analytics team
  • Foster a high-performing culture focused on collaboration and innovation
  • Provide career development, attract analytics talent, and build team capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 7 years relevant business, data, and analytics experience
  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Proven experience leading data analytics functions delivering measurable business value
  • Experience in operations, business process management, or service delivery environments preferred
  • Experience managing and transforming data infrastructure and analytics capabilities
  • Track record of leading high-performing teams of professional knowledge workers
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries an asset
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written) required for Quebec-based positions
  • Strong understanding of predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI
  • Deep knowledge of business intelligence tools, platforms, and best practices
  • Familiarity with operational metrics, performance management, and process optimization
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, modeling techniques, and quantitative methods
  • Ability to develop long-term vision while executing tactical priorities
  • Skilled at stakeholder management and influencing across all organizational levels
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex data insights into clear narratives for executive audiences
  • Proven ability to lead teams through transformation
  • Creative and critical thinking to address complex business challenges
  • Strong understanding of business drivers, operational dynamics, and financial impact

  • Track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through analytics
  • Reliability Status Clearance required before starting employment, including law enforcement inquiry and credit check
  • Must account for activities during any period lived or travelled outside Canada for 6 consecutive months during the last 5 years
