About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the Dean Connor Inclusion Scholarship & Internship Program
- Complete a paid four-month summer internship at Sun Life from May through August 2027
- Apply academic and professional interests across areas such as actuarial, corporate functions, digital business and technology, marketing, project coordination, finance, and HR
- Engage in professional mentorship, career coaching, and guidance from Sun Life management
- Identify and apply for full-time opportunities with Sun Life following graduation
- Potentially transition to full-time employment after the internship
- Submit a combined application document containing a personal essay, updated resume, and academic transcripts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Member of the Black or Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit peoples) communities
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree, diploma program, or graduate-level program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- Returning to full-time studies in September 2027 and completing studies no later than August 2028
- In good academic standing
- Able to pass all required background checks and prerequisites for working with Sun Life
- Legally entitled to work and complete a full-time summer internship in Canada
- For Quebec only: bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written
- Unofficial transcripts from current program
- Personal essay of no more than 500 words
- Updated resume including relevant non-curricular activities
