About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and complete monthly and quarterly finance functions, including accounting close, chart of value requests, reconciliations, reporting, and analytics
  • Support SLC projects and initiatives by preparing and posting journal entries in SAP
  • Ensure balances are accurate and aligned with reporting and accounting requirements
  • Assist in preparing legal entity financial statements
  • Perform detailed analytical reviews and investigate variances
  • Support compliance and regulatory reporting, including excess minimum capital calculations and participation fees
  • Support audits by coordinating deliverables, preparing audit samples, and liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with SLC teams to operationalize new processes and prepare process documentation
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies, including automation
  • Establish and maintain robust governance and financial controls
  • Support legal entity accounting, reporting, control processes, and Management Equity Plan data inputs
  • Support monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting close processes and various SLC initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience in finance or reporting-related functions, combined with a finance background
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to summarize detailed information for relevant stakeholders
  • Self-starter able to drive progress and execute assigned deliverables
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an inquiring mindset
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all organizational levels
  • Strong experience using financial reporting systems and tools
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is an asset
  • Experience working at a financial institution, especially in asset management, is a valuable asset
  • Some overtime required during peak reporting periods
  • Successful candidates must declare personal investment accounts and securities investments and seek preclearance for future transactions, including household members’ transactions
