About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and communicate the overall Sunlife Health strategy during the annual planning cycle
- Prepare materials for strategic discussions and decisions at leadership offsites
- Develop executive-ready strategy content for presentation to the CEO and Board
- Build town hall and team materials to cascade strategy to employees
- Frame ambiguous strategic problems into specific questions and testable hypotheses
- Gather research and data, assess source credibility, and build Excel analyses
- Identify insights, patterns, gaps, risks, and their drivers
- Build trusted relationships with leaders and business partners
- Write structured documents and slides for executive audiences and present recommendations
- Plan and deliver workstreams on time while keeping leaders and stakeholders updated
- Run the monthly strategy reporting cycle for the President of Sunlife Canada
- Collect and validate initiative metrics across teams
- Investigate off-track metrics, support problem-solving, and refine commentary
- Send concise review emails to Vice Presidents and the Senior Vice President
- Prepare quarterly briefing notes and handle ad hoc reporting requests
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or another analytical, problem-solving role
- Structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving demonstrated through real work
- Strong Excel skills, clean modelling habits, and a working grasp of basic statistics
- Clear, concise writing and slide-building for senior audiences
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
- Organizational skills and habits to manage several parallel workstreams
- Initiative and judgment to work independently and drive toward solutions
- Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written, required for Quebec-based candidates
- Experience in a strategy consulting firm is nice to have
- Exposure to group benefits, insurance, healthcare, or digital health is nice to have
- A degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is nice to have
