About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver recommendations on priority strategy questions for Group Retirement Services.
  • Track strategic initiatives, including monthly reporting.
  • Engage senior stakeholders.
  • Support strategic project execution, including workstream management, problem definition and structuring, cross-functional collaboration, project updates, and timely delivery of deliverables.
  • Track monthly progress on key strategic projects and initiatives, including preparing reports on GRS OKRs for senior leaders.
  • Conduct financial and business analysis using business strategy frameworks.
  • Interpret analytical results and generate insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor actions in the Group Retirement Services space.
  • Perform market analysis to identify opportunities and communicate findings to GRS leaders.
  • Prepare and deliver formal presentations and informal management updates.
  • Present results, engage partners in discussions, and support implementation of recommendations.
  • Co-lead strategy project delivery across GRS with GRS partners, cross-business-unit partners, and Canada Strategy.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong conceptual problem-solving skills, including structuring business problems, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and interpret and synthesize results.
  • Experience conducting in-depth secondary research.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare formal business reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with business partners.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively to deliver on tight timelines, with high attention to detail.
  • University degree in business administration, economics, finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in strategy development, leading significant business initiatives, or business consulting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant business experience, ideally with exposure to the financial services industry.
