About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, enhance, test, and support full-stack Java applications, services, and APIs
Maintain ownership of applications from implementation through production support
Develop and support native iOS applications
Troubleshoot and debug production and test environment issues
Investigate incidents, restore service, perform root-cause analysis, and remediate vulnerabilities
Collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, and other partners
Contribute to monitoring, change management, system upgrades, disaster recovery, and continuous-improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10 years of experience developing and supporting back-end Java applications in an enterprise environment
Strong knowledge of core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
At least 4 years of front-end development experience using React, JavaScript, and modern web technologies
At least 2 years of experience developing and supporting native iOS applications in an enterprise environment
Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, and Java APIs
Working knowledge of middleware and application server technologies such as WebSphere or WebLogic
Experience troubleshooting production issues and working with SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Ability to satisfactorily complete applicable background checks before starting and during employment
Reliability Security Clearance required
Must account for living or travel outside Canada for six consecutive months during the last five years as part of the Government of Canada inquiry
Availability for on-call and after-hours support on a team rotation
