About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Help build out the Java development team
Influence how DMS evolves software engineering
Migrate legacy code to a Java-based web language
Work closely with developers with diverse skills and technology expertise to provide scalable solutions
Design, implement, and optimize full-stack solutions for changing stakeholder needs in an Agile environment
Create and update technical and user documentation for knowledge transfer
Present monthly to stakeholders
Develop effective and scalable code with low latency and high availability
Help organizations with their technological framework

Requirements

What you’ll need

Internship opportunities are open exclusively to current third-year degree students who are required to complete an internship or work placement as a mandatory part of their degree program/coursework
Applicants must be returning to their studies following the internship
Ability to provide confirmation from the educational institution that the placement forms part of the course requirements
Experience with Spring or similar Java frameworks, including architecting, designing, and programming
3+ years of experience working with ReactJS
Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Experience working with a SQL Server Database with Java
Strong expertise in API development and integration, including RESTful and SOAP web services and JSON/XML
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Ideally, previous database-backed web services development experience
Familiarity with Windows and Linux fundamentals
Working understanding of PowerShell
Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and open-source libraries and provide recommendations
Strong interest in learning new technologies and solving complex problems
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable experience such as a coding bootcamp
Some level of migration experience from one platform to another
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Scale-up mindset
Experience with code versioning tools such as Git or SVN
Ability to anticipate problems and provide creative, quick, and reliable solutions
December 2027 or later graduation date
Experience in multi-process architecture is nice to have
Familiarity with data protection and security features is nice to have
