About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set the strategic direction for SLGI’s product portfolio and align the roadmap with client needs, market opportunities, growth priorities and enterprise objectives
  • Lead product development for mutual funds, ETFs, target date funds, segregated funds, annuities, GIAs and GICs
  • Lead integrated go-to-market strategies to strengthen the brand, deepen advisor and client engagement and drive profitable growth
  • Represent SLGI through thought leadership, industry forums, partner engagements and strategic client conversations
  • Use analytics, client research and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and improve business outcomes
  • Attract, develop and retain a high-performing, diverse team; build succession depth and foster accountability, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Provide executive leadership for product strategy, roadmap and product shelf management from opportunity identification through post-implementation review
  • Drive innovative product solutions and ensure competitive product design and client interests
  • Ensure products meet profitability targets and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee products post-launch and recommend product mergers and closures
  • Provide product support to retail and institutional distribution teams, including sales concepts, product positioning, training and ongoing support
  • Establish appropriate policies and improve processes and controls to mitigate investment and business risk
  • Lead SLGI’s marketing, brand and communications strategy
  • Translate market research, client insight and analytics into targeted positioning and messaging
  • Partner with product, distribution, business development and enterprise teams to align marketing with growth objectives
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with partners, asset managers and industry stakeholders
  • Identify partnership opportunities supporting product innovation, distribution growth and competitive differentiation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, asset management, wealth, insurance, investment solutions, product strategy, marketing or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver enterprise-level growth initiatives with measurable business impact
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written, required for Quebec positions
  • Strategic and commercial leadership
  • Understanding of retail and institutional clients, advisors, consultants and distribution partners
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and mobilize teams across functions
  • Data-driven decision-making using research, analytics, market intelligence and performance measures
  • Ability to attract, develop and inspire high-performing teams and build succession depth
  • Credible executive presence and ability to communicate complex product, market and analytics insights clearly
  • Disciplined execution, governance, prioritization and measurable outcomes
  • Advanced education in business, marketing, analytics or investments is an asset
