About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering
Design and implement systems to provision, scale, and manage multi-region compute workloads
Own the full lifecycle of compute orchestration, including project creation, warm pools, autoscaling, resizing, and resource optimization
Improve automation and observability across the compute stack
Improve system architecture to reduce costs while balancing security, reliability, and performance
Collaborate cross-functionally to leverage compute as a core platform offering
Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews
Resolve escalated support issues and identify and resolve systemic platform issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software engineering skills; Go and TypeScript required
Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale
5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure; AWS required
Experience with compute, networking, and storage services
3+ years of experience building custom Kubernetes controllers
Experience operating large-scale clusters with tens to hundreds of thousands of pods
Knowledge of networking and multi-region infrastructure design
Familiarity with Postgres
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools; Pulumi highly preferred, Terraform/CDK acceptable
Experience with QEMU, KVM, and NAS is a plus
Experience participating in on-call rotations for large production systems
