About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive progress of the Turso open-source database, particularly its Postgres compatibility layer
Ensure code works reliably and does not break by establishing appropriate systems and guarantees
Maintain Turso Cloud operations, including the Cloud API and data plane operations
Improve scalability of Turso Cloud operations to support 100 times more databases
Collaborate closely with customers and other Supabase teams
Build database technology tools that scale to billions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience writing databases and/or other high-stakes low-level systems such as hypervisors, OS kernels, or storage devices
Experience working with remote teams and open-source communities
Experience with Deterministic Simulation Testing, formal verification methods, fuzz testing, and differential testing
Experience deploying, operating, and debugging large-scale production software systems in cloud environments such as AWS and Kubernetes
Experience improving observability, reliability, and performance of complex cloud systems
Comfortable working in Rust
Comfortable with LLM-assisted development and evals
Comfortable working with embedded databases
Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly
