About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide one-on-one support in clients’ homes and community settings
  • Help clients develop independent living, communication, social, and community participation skills

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and current vehicle registration
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to drive between client and community locations
  • Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
  • Availability matching client needs, including potentially days, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to use email, electronic documentation systems, and basic mobile technology
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to a larger team
  • Calm, patient, and professional conduct during difficult situations
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions when guidance is needed
  • Ability to follow written plans and safety procedures
  • Initiative without exceeding role or responsibilities
  • Comfort working in clients’ homes and throughout the community
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
