About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the reliability, performance, and scalability of the service provider network
  • Provision and turn up new fiber access sites and customer services
  • Configure and test customer-facing services
  • Implement approved network changes while minimizing risk and downtime
  • Document changes and validate post-change success criteria
  • Respond to NOC escalations and troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues
  • Serve as an escalation point for trouble tickets requiring engineering input
  • Maintain network diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Monitor network health and proactively identify and remediate potential issues
  • Partner with Sales Engineering and Project Management to deliver enterprise/E-Rate solutions
  • Collaborate with Tier 2/3 engineers on complex issues and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 Year Degree
  • Experience with routing and switching (Juniper preferred)
  • VLAN Trunking, Q-in-Q, and tunneling experience
  • Hands-on experience with GPON and fiber builds is a plus
  • Juniper JNCIA-Junos or JNCIS-SP certification (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • Familiarity with Microtik, Adtran, and ADVA platforms
  • Familiarity with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and VPLS
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
