About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategy, development, and performance of health plan products and services across Sutter Health Plan and affiliated markets
  • Translate enterprise strategy into actionable product initiatives
  • Manage product lifecycle integrity across ideation, design, development, implementation, optimization, and sunsetting
  • Develop product portfolio direction, business cases, market opportunity sizing, product positioning, and financial analyses
  • Assess competitive landscapes, market dynamics, customer needs, and product opportunities
  • Lead market research, benchmarking, and synthesis of market intelligence and performance data
  • Lead complex cross-functional product initiatives and large-scale, high-visibility projects
  • Oversee regulatory filings, approvals, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Lead innovative benefit plan design and customer experience improvements
  • Develop financial models, pricing considerations, cost-benefit analyses, and portfolio-level financial insights
  • Act as senior liaison across actuarial, network, compliance, operations, sales, and finance departments
  • Influence decisions, drive cross-functional alignment, mentor junior product staff, and improve product development processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Economics, or related field
  • 5 years recent relevant experience
  • Experience in health plan product management or related field
  • Deep expertise in health plan product management across the full lifecycle
  • Advanced knowledge of managed care products and state regulatory environment
  • Strong understanding of benefit design, pricing strategy, and product positioning
  • Advanced strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including modeling, forecasting, and business case development
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations
  • Ability to lead complex initiatives and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build alignment and drive decisions in complex organizational environments
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical tools
