About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician
Implement patients’ plans of care based on diagnosis
Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families/support groups, and healthcare providers
Distribute supplies and perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup
Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
Perform specific procedures as needed
Orient other staff to the department as needed
Travel between assigned Sutter Health locations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
LVN intravenous therapy and blood withdrawal certification (LVNIVBWP or equivalent)
2 years recent relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills, medical procedures, and medical equipment
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule data and instructions
Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines within standardized procedures
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems
Ability to travel as needed between Auburn, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville, Sacramento, and/or Yuba City locations
