About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist providers under general supervision within the scope of certification or licensure
- Greet and identify patients
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Identify the purpose of patient visits
- Prepare patients for office visits, including weighing patients and taking vital signs
- Perform minor medical procedures and other patient-care tasks
- Deliver care within the scope of the California Nurse Practice Act and PAMF Nursing guidelines
- Handle hazardous drugs as required, in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider) certification
- Related medical experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish speaking
- Verbal and written communication skills for regular contact with employees, patients, and patient families
- Basic high school math aptitude
- Basic Windows skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, and computer data entry
- Organizational skills
- Ability to lift and position patients
- Visual capabilities to observe patients
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to work with others in a flexible, cooperative manner
- Ability to handle varying procedures and interruptions with moderate mental application and concentration
- Ability to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer hazardous drugs in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines
