About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop customer-focused plans to drive year-over-year non-salary cost and variation reductions for the health system
  • Measure performance against system, team, and individual goals
  • Oversee development, communication, and implementation of strategic sourcing and value analysis project plans and activities
  • Manage schedules, costs, resources, and deliverables throughout all levels of the organization
  • Provide oversight of negotiations and execution of contracts for services and supplies in accordance with Sutter standards
  • Work with business partners at the strategic level to understand goals and propose effective plans
  • Identify program critical success factors
  • Drive mitigation of significant issues and risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Healthcare Administration or related field
  • 8 years of recent relevant experience
  • Experience within a large health system specifically with orthopedic, neuroscience, general surgical and/or heart and vascular service lines preferred
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary groups and present to various levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio
  • Ability to synthesize data and create meaningful presentations
  • Ability to quickly grasp data provided in opportunity analyses and effectively secure feedback from the supplying source as to its quality
  • Knowledge of healthcare products and equipment, inventory sources, alternative sources of supply, purchasing and distribution systems, contract administration, and emerging industry trends
  • Team leadership and organization skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex situations with a high degree of variation
  • Adaptability and high tolerance of ambiguity
  • Ability to facilitate team meetings involving competing objectives
