Key responsibilities & impact

Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams
Perform back-office and patient-related tasks supporting high-quality patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Completion of a course of study consistent with Medical Board of California requirements for Medical Assistants, with diploma presented within 90 days
OR completion of Sutter Health on-the-job training in medical assisting equivalent to one year
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
1 year of recent relevant experience
General knowledge of medical procedures, views, and equipment
Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Competency and validation in basic Medical Assisting skills, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-form data and instructions
Written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and electronic health records (EHR)
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions
Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers
