About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation, integration, optimization, and maintenance of clinical information systems and associated applications
  • Incorporate clinical practice, affiliate workflows, and regulatory requirements into cohesive clinical information systems
  • Serve as the primary champion and spokesperson for non-physician clinical caregivers
  • Bridge local, regional, and enterprise Information Services organizations with end users
  • Collaborate with the IS Support Team, Nursing Leadership, and selected technology companies to drive ongoing optimization
  • Validate and redesign workflows and review clinical content for all clinical areas
  • Develop and maintain interdisciplinary teams to resolve identified issues
  • Identify, review, and recommend process and policy changes related to clinical documentation
  • Use clinical information system data to develop metrics for improving and monitoring patient care productivity
  • Develop and prepare routine and ad hoc reports to support departmental functions, planning, and decision-making
  • Identify and solve complex problems using multiple information sources
  • Coordinate efforts to provide efficient and cost-effective clinical information systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Master's in Nursing Informatics, Health Care Administration, or a clinical related field
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California
  • 8 years recent relevant experience
  • Expert competency in professional nursing evidence-based knowledge, theory, practices, principles, and processes
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare operations, physician and clinical staff workflows, patient care, quality assessment and improvement, and clinical application planning and adoption
  • Knowledge of local, state, federal, and accrediting body healthcare regulations and standards, including Joint Commission standards and documentation requirements
  • Leadership, conflict identification and resolution, group problem solving, and consensus building skills
  • Exceptional analytical and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records such as EPIC, data analysis, and report generation
  • Ability to protect patient PHI privacy
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate assignments under varied and urgent conditions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, Information Services, legal, quality management, and technology companies
