About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor patient safety for an assigned patient population through continuous video monitoring surveillance
- Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain patient and support-group cooperation
- Exercise sound judgment and therapeutic communication skills to support patients’ plans of care based on diagnosis and safety needs
- Intervene or communicate with the clinical care team in a timely manner
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
- Help ensure patient privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Ability to focus and remain alert during shift hours
- Familiarity with basic computer and video monitoring systems
- Ability to work independently and report observations accurately
- Demonstrated competency of basic therapeutic communication skills, medical terminology, and equipment
- Ability to recognize an emergency and take appropriate action
- Ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
- Time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and working within standardized operating procedures
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers
