Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor patient safety for an assigned patient population through continuous video monitoring surveillance
  • Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain patient and family/support group cooperation
  • Exercise sound judgment and therapeutic communication skills to support patients’ plans of care
  • Intervene or communicate with the clinical care team in a timely manner based on patient diagnosis and safety needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 1 year recent relevant experience
  • Strong observational and communication skills
  • Ability to focus and remain alert during shift hours
  • Familiarity with basic computer and video monitoring systems
  • Ability to work independently and report observations accurately
  • Demonstrated competency of basic therapeutic communication skills, medical terminology, and equipment
  • Ability to recognize an emergency and take appropriate action
  • Ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers
