About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Greet and check in patients
Schedule appointments
Verify demographic and insurance information
Update electronic health records (EHR)
Facilitate intake processes
Collect payments
Deliver exceptional customer service and personalized patient care
Build trust with patients, families, providers, and colleagues
Serve as a resource to patients and colleagues
Support departmental operations and staffing needs
Adapt schedules and assignments to support patient access and clinic operations
Occasionally travel between Los Altos and San Mateo clinic locations
Provide coverage at the San Mateo Plastic Surgery clinic as needed
Maintain privacy, integrity, and service excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
1 year of recent relevant experience
Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as patient billing
Written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
Ability to ensure patient privacy and protect PHI
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff
Experience in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery or Cosmetic Plastic Surgery settings strongly preferred
