Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the outpatient medical facility
Greet and check in patients
Verify patient information
Schedule appointments
Update electronic health records (EHR)
Facilitate healthcare and insurance form completion
Collect payments for services
Gain patient, family/support group, and healthcare provider confidence through competent performance and effective communication
Follow organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
Maintain patient privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
Perform specific departmental tasks as assigned
Orient other staff members when needed
Travel between Modesto and Turlock locations as needed

What you’ll need

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
1 year of recent relevant experience
Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient billing
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-form data and instructions
Written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
Ability to ensure patient Protected Health Information (PHI) privacy
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff
Travel between Modesto and Turlock locations as needed
