About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the outpatient medical facility
  • Greet and check in patients
  • Verify patient information
  • Schedule appointments
  • Update electronic health records (EHR)
  • Facilitate healthcare and insurance form completion
  • Collect payments for services
  • Build confidence and cooperation with patients, families/support groups, and healthcare providers
  • Follow organizational and local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
  • Perform specific departmental tasks as needed
  • Orient other staff to the department as needed
  • Travel between Modesto and Turlock locations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient billing
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
  • Ability to ensure patient Protected Health Information (PHI) privacy
  • Ability to travel as needed between Modesto and Turlock locations
