  • Follow diagnostic sonography procedures to deliver high-quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention
  • Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to perform safe and precise procedures
  • Assess and monitor patients and communicate effectively with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers
  • Recognize, prioritize, and communicate suspicious or abnormal results
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
  • Protect patient privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent education/experience
  • Sonographer Level I: ARDMS eligible; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • Sonographer Level II: ARDMS upon hire; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire; two certifications from AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT upon hire
  • Sonographer Level III: ARDMS upon hire; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire; three certifications from AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT upon hire, except MFM Sonographers who qualify with one or more
  • Level I or II: 2 years basic clinical and practical experience as typically acquired during an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • Level III: 5 years clinical and practical experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies
  • Proficiency performing sonographic examinations
  • Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS
  • Ability to work varied shifts, variable days, occasional weekends, and 8-hour shifts
