About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity
  • Produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease
  • Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills during challenging diagnostic procedures
  • Assess patients and monitor their condition
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers
  • Follow local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
  • Perform specific procedures and orient other staff as needed
  • Float between multiple sites across the Greater Sacramento Area
  • Travel within and around the Greater Sacramento Area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent education/experience
  • Sonographer Level I: ARDMS eligible; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • Sonographer Level II: ARDMS upon hire; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire; two of AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT certifications upon hire
  • Sonographer Level III: ARDMS upon hire; BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire; three of AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT certifications upon hire, except MFM Sonographers who qualify with one or more
  • Level III: 5 years clinical and practical experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies
  • Proficiency performing sonographic examinations and understanding anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS
  • Ability to travel within and around the Greater Sacramento Area
  • Ability to work varied shifts, variable days, and weekends as needed
