About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the legal team, fostering a culture of efficiency, agility, and results orientation
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts with strategic partners, suppliers, and clients, ensuring the best terms and protection for Swap
- Serve as legal counsel to the Product, Technology, and Commercial teams, assessing the legal feasibility of new projects and features
- Establish and track the department’s OKRs/KPIs, implementing workflows that ensure responsive internal support and compliance with SLAs
- Support corporate matters, including minutes, shareholder meetings, intellectual property, and the maintenance of Swap’s corporate governance structure
- Coordinate litigation with external counsel, monitoring legal strategies and provisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Law and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
- Strong experience in people management and building in-house legal departments, preferably at fintechs or technology companies
- Ability to balance legal rigor with the agility required in a startup environment
- Knowledge of and experience navigating Brazilian National Financial System regulations, including BACEN regulations and payment methods
- Ability to translate complex legal terms into business decisions and actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Advanced English proficiency
