About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build large-scale distributed systems, with an end-to-end view of the architecture.
  • Plan and develop features and improvements that support product growth, in collaboration with the team.
  • Write clean, testable code, document technical decisions, and maintain the health of the codebase.
  • Continuously improve the product’s quality, security, and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Identify team impediments and propose solutions that preserve delivery quality.
  • Communicate technical and architectural challenges clearly, proposing approaches and alternatives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong knowledge of Java 8+.
  • Experience with software architecture, including Clean Architecture and Hexagonal Architecture.
  • Proficiency in SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with unit and/or integration testing.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability of distributed systems, using Prometheus, New Relic, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL.
  • Willingness to participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training processes for other members of the engineering team.
  • Interest in mentoring early-career professionals and fostering SWAP’s culture.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, is a plus.
  • Experience in financial services companies is a plus.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field is a plus.
