About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead creation of control systems for Swarm Aero aircraft
- Establish processes and tools for vehicle modeling and GNC algorithm development
- Develop and refine algorithms for flight control, payload management, and autonomy
- Enhance design and analysis tools to improve workflow efficiency and quality
- Improve simulation models with higher-fidelity definitions to support GNC development and testing
- Test and validate GNC systems in simulation, subscale, ground, and full-scale flight tests
- Collaborate with a world-class team of engineers and operators solving complex defense technology problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience developing control systems for an aircraft
- Experience using MATLAB/Simulink to develop algorithms, model dynamic systems, and analyze system performance
- 7+ years of experience in aircraft development (sets you apart)
- Experience working as part of a small team and supporting rapid development (sets you apart)
- Experience in a full aircraft development cycle (Design–Build–Test) (sets you apart)
- Must satisfy U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
- Comprehensive background verification is a prerequisite for employment
- Must meet citizenship requirements to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
