About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build distributed onboard autonomy running in real time across several companion computers under tight compute and link constraints
- Evolve multi-agent algorithms for task allocation, deconfliction, and collaborative path planning under limited bandwidth, high latency, and packet loss
- Convert R&D algorithms into product-ready code by finding bottlenecks, handling edge cases, and ensuring deterministic, fault-tolerant behavior
- Optimize processing time, power consumption, and data flow
- Design resilient communications and coordination, including link-aware strategies and degraded-mode behavior when links drop
- Build swarm explainability through intent and decision logs, human-readable reasoning traces, and post-flight analysis tools
- Own the simulation pipeline by preparing digital twins, designing multi-drone experiments, and measuring the simulation-to-real-flight gap
- Support field tests with the test-range team, remain available online during flights, and occasionally travel to the test site
