About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a squad member within the DNS and NTP squad
- Provide end-to-end DNS and NTP infrastructure design, development, testing, implementation, operation, and support in an Agile context
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and report complex to mission-critical problems in accordance with SLAs
- Identify, design, develop, and test improvements to supported mission-critical infrastructure
- Deploy infrastructure and software according to change-management processes
- Follow up and document services as systems, applications, and procedures evolve
- Propose and implement measures to prevent recurring problems
- Collaborate with other squads to ensure customer satisfaction
- Improve existing processes and procedures
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations on systems
- Participate in 24x7 on-call and weekend deployment rotations
- Manage authoritative and recursive DNS services, including Infoblox DDI NIOS, ISC BIND, traffic steering, and high-performance caching
- Architect and manage DHCP services with failover associations
- Maintain global IPAM, including subnet allocation and cloud/virtualized-environment integration
- Implement DNS security controls such as RPZ, DNS Firewall, and Infoblox TIDE
- Automate IP allocation and DNS record updates using Infoblox WAPI and orchestration tools
- Plan and execute non-disruptive NIOS upgrades and hardware refreshes
- Use Infoblox Reporting and Analytics for network trends, troubleshooting, and capacity planning
- Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems from setup through daily operations, troubleshooting, and recovery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline plus 3+ years of relevant technical experience, or Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline plus 7+ years of relevant technical experience, or 11+ years of specialized, relevant technical experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience dedicated to Infoblox NIOS administration and DDI protocols
- Advanced expertise in DNS
- Strong experience or expertise in Infoblox DDI, ISC BIND, Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration, and NTP
- Experience with authoritative and recursive DNS services, complex traffic steering, and high-performance caching
- Experience architecting and managing DHCP services with failover associations
- Experience maintaining enterprise IPAM databases and integrating with cloud/virtualized environments
- Experience implementing DNS security features including RPZ, DNS Firewall, and Infoblox TIDE
- Experience using Infoblox WAPI (REST API) and orchestration tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience planning and executing NIOS upgrades and hardware refreshes
- Experience with Infoblox Reporting and Analytics
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, including troubleshooting and recovery
- Scripting, integration, and development knowledge in Python, JavaScript, bash/korn shell, and Bitbucket/Git
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and orchestration such as Ansible
- Proven experience managing security and network infrastructure for medium/large-scale enterprises
- NTP experience with chronyd, ntpd, Meinberg, or Microchip
- Familiarity with Wireshark and interpreting network traces
- Knowledge of TCP-based protocols, web technologies, Docker/container technologies, PKI, AES, and TLS is an asset
- Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and weekend deployment rotation
