About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare partnership tax returns and Schedules K-1, K-2, and K-3 for over 2,500 SPVs and Funds using technology automation
  • Research complex tax questions and interpret tax laws and regulations
  • Assess and manage tax vendor software systems
  • Respond to customer requests regarding annual tax documents and contemplated investments
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding tax implications of investing in certain assets
  • Advise cross-functional team leaders on tax planning opportunities and compliance issues
  • Liaise with Product on features connecting investment events to tax software
  • Ensure ledger events are properly mapped to tax events
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Respond to tax notices and audits
  • Work with Finance, CX leadership, the Sr. Manager of Tax, developers, and teams across the company to build repeatable processes and systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of experience in a public accounting firm
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters tax software
  • Experience with PE/VC clients
  • Experience preparing 1065s and Schedules K-1, K-2, K-3 and special allocations
  • Understanding of drafting K-1 Footnotes and interpreting Footnotes on K-1s
  • Ability to draft timely and relevant tax memos and articles and contribute to the knowledge base
  • Concise and effective communication regarding complex tax topics
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred
  • Experience with Forms 5471, 8865, and 1042 is a bonus
  • Legally authorized to work in the country in which applying
  • Must identify whether employment visa sponsorship is needed
