About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Start up, commission, and test PLC-controlled equipment at customer sites
  • Complete systems integration at customer locations
  • Work alongside electrical technicians to bring up control cabinets, load and configure PLC software, and execute functionality and performance tests
  • Commission HMI systems and establish connections with PLCs
  • Conduct hardware testing against project specifications and industry standards
  • Test system functionality and integration with customer Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware and software issues under senior-team guidance
  • Develop proficiency in commissioning software, hardware, tools, and systems through ongoing learning and training
  • Participate in integration testing of adapter cells, storage solutions, and safety systems
  • Assist with Commissioning Services Scope of Work tasks, including control cabinet startup, software loading, configuration, and performance validation
  • Collaborate with engineering, software, and customer support teams
  • Provide technical support and report testing findings
  • Travel to client and customer locations for commissioning work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC systems, robotics, industrial networks, or HMI systems
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and HMI systems
  • Familiarity with ABB and Fanuc robotics
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and ProfiNet
  • Experience with Panel View Plus
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Hands-on experience with motion control equipment such as VFDs is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide remote system support using Remote Desktop, SSH, and web browsers
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute in high-pressure situations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations
  • Ability to comply with lockout/tagout and fall protection safety protocols
  • Ability to work at heights up to 45 feet and in restrictive areas of 24 inches
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, and fall protection equipment
