About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary finance lead for Symbotic's Mexico entity, overseeing local accounting operations and statutory compliance requirements
  • Manage and review third-party accounting providers, ensuring accurate and complete financial records, filings, and reporting
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entry reviews, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses
  • Prepare, review, and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, accounting variances, and financial discrepancies
  • Escalate risks and recommendations to management
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, labor regulations, payroll requirements, and other regulatory obligations
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams on budgeting, forecasting, contract accounting, and operational finance initiatives
  • Support external audits, process improvements, ERP initiatives, and internal control enhancements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Professional fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican statutory accounting, financial reporting, payroll, labor, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multinational financial reporting environments
  • Experience managing third-party accounting, payroll, tax, legal, or professional service providers
  • Experience with project accounting, long-term contract accounting, construction accounting, and revenue recognition principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred
  • Remote opportunity, preferred location Mexico City, MX
  • Valid driver's license and passport required to drive or fly to headquarters in Wilmington, MA
