About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and delivery of Java-based enterprise applications and services
- Guide and mentor development team members toward technical excellence and best practices
- Translate business needs into scalable, high-performance technical solutions
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, operations, product owners, and other cross-functional teams
- Drive scalability, performance, security, and quality across development activities
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data access layers
- Develop APIs and microservices and integrate them with external systems and platforms
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Support deployment, troubleshooting, performance enhancement, and release automation
- Maintain system design, API, and deployment documentation
- Evaluate emerging Java frameworks, tools, and methodologies for continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience with Java version 8 or higher and core Java concepts
- Strong React development skills
- Proficiency in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related Java libraries
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases including MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server
- Working knowledge of Git and branching strategies
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and Jira or Azure DevOps
- Hands-on experience with Maven or Gradle
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, CI/CD, application security, and performance tuning preferred
- 6–9 years of proven experience as a Java developer in enterprise settings
- Experience leading development teams and managing complex project deliverables
- Experience designing and implementing microservices and API frameworks
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Experience working in Agile teams with continuous integration and delivery practices
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Oracle Certified Professional or Java SE certifications are a plus
- Proven leadership experience managing development teams and delivering enterprise solutions
