About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, write, validate, and maintain clinical programming software using Medidata, Rave, Oracle OC/RDC, Oracle Inform, SAS, and supporting tools
- Generate and maintain documentation for annotated CRFs, database creation, coding configuration, edit checks, imports, exports, listings, and custom reports
- Coordinate and lead development activities for clinical programming projects
- Participate in project meetings, solve problems analytically, focus on deliverables, provide feedback, and escalate issues affecting dates, scope, or budget
- Provide technology support to clinical programming staff, Project Analysts, Data Managers, and related teams
- Provide application administration and technical support as a subject matter expert on core business packages
- Conduct senior reviews of study-level, program-level, and multi-study core deliverables
- Attend sponsor audits and assist with in-progress audits
- Review study budgets, monitor scope against actual work, and manage change orders
- Monitor applications for workflow alerts, system errors, and performance issues; provide second-tier help desk support
- Perform system integration, application updates, and user acceptance testing
- Provide leadership, training, guidance, and support to department members
- Collaborate with clients, peers, lead programmers, project teams, and requestors to finalize specifications
- Lead assigned-study activities at Quick Start Camps
- Lead clinical programming activities across three to ten concurrent studies
- Manage project resources and alert management to delivery and resourcing needs
- Maintain broad knowledge of clinical programming and clinical data management through literature, training, and professional meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of related education and experience
- 5–8 years of experience in clinical programming
- End to End Clinical Programming experience in Rave
- Study/DB Build, eCRF Build, Edit Checks programming, Migrations & Custom Function experience
- Study Leading experience, amendments, including publishing the checks and migrations
- At least 2+ years of Custom Function experience
- Protocol interpretation experience is good to have
- Ability to deal effectively with sponsors and internal customers at all levels
- Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment
- Experience working in a matrix-structured environment preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and Voicemail
- Experience with programming languages such as PL/SQL, SAS, C#, or VB preferred
- Ability to travel as necessary, up to 25%
