About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create detailed wiring and layout diagrams for electrical projects
- Develop detailed wiring diagrams and layout plans
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and the electrical team to understand project scopes and requirements
- Use specialized design software to create and modify drawings
- Review, revise, and update existing and new electrical plans based on feedback
- Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes, including NEC
- Conduct site visits to gather data and verify measurements
- Translate electrical specifications into accurate, detailed drawings for residential building systems
- Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in electrical drafting or a related field
- Certificate in drafting or a related field
- Field experience in electrical work is a plus
- Proficiency in electrical design tools and draft software
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC)
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Ability to perform capacity/size calculations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
