About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide distinctive service to mortgage clients and prospects in person and over the telephone
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve client issues
  • Act as a point of contact after the initial loan decision and set expectations for the application timeline
  • Communicate application progress and closing timelines
  • Communicate required conditions and documentation to clients
  • Collect supporting documentation based on underwriting conditions and AUS requirements and upload it to the eFolder
  • Meet regularly with the Mortgage Advisor to manage and review the mortgage pipeline
  • Provide statistics updates as applicable
  • Manage client escalations with the Mortgage Advisor
  • Review Closing Disclosures with the Mortgage Advisor and client to ensure fees and cash are consistent with the client commitment
  • Review files for application completeness and required supporting documentation
  • Escalate file needs to the Mortgage Advisor or Mortgage Processing Manager
  • Monitor Regulation B timing and ensure required notices, underwriting returns, and incomplete-file closures are handled appropriately
  • Ensure files are decisioned within Regulation B requirements and timely manner
  • Address clients' business and personal financial needs and refer them to Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, and other specialty areas
  • Assist team members as needed and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services and/or mortgage lending
  • College degree is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or related software
  • Knowledge of federal banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA, VA, and Jumbo loan underwriting guidelines
  • Broad knowledge of bank products and services
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of loan documentation processes and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with clients and team members
  • May require successful NMLS registration and issuance of a unique identification number within an established timeframe after employment, including a nationwide fingerprint check
  • Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including prolonged sitting and standing, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping
