About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and operate robust, scalable, and secure network solutions for a sovereign cloud infrastructure serving the public sector
Ensure a robust, highly available network architecture with excellent monitoring
Design system architectures and automate operational processes
Take responsibility for the design, implementation, and operation of highly secure network infrastructures, including isolated air-gapped systems
Plan tailored network setups in close collaboration with customers and based on customer-owned hardware stacks
Configure and optimize complex routing scenarios using BGP, MPLS, and IPv6 in multi-tenant environments
Develop and maintain automation with Ansible and Python for updates, scaling, and hardware integrations in live production environments
Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting
Continuously improve monitoring to ensure high availability
Collaborate within a cross-functional team to ensure the stability and reliability of critical infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience in network engineering, ideally in an ISP environment or large data centers
Strong knowledge of data center networking, particularly Cumulus Linux and Juniper Junos
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, and VXLAN/EVPN
Confident working with the Linux command line
Experience with scripting and automation using Bash and Python
Practical experience with Ansible or Terraform is a plus
Structured and organized approach to work
Ability to create and maintain clear documentation
Very good German and English language skills
