About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, modify, adapt, and implement technology solutions supporting the Investments Technology – Equity team
- Build scalable, reliable full-stack applications and services using Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and related frameworks
- Partner with investment professionals, product owners, and technology colleagues to interpret business needs and review system requirements
- Perform coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and production support
- Lead projects or work streams and significant pieces of development
- Develop standard methodologies, reusable components, automated testing, and responsible AI-enabled development practices
- Lead code reviews and provide feedback on designs and code
- Design and deliver user-facing features, back-end services, and integration layers
- Translate Equity investment workflows, data needs, and business priorities into technology solutions
- Explore AI use cases for developer productivity, decision support, automation, and user experience
- Maintain accountability for technical debt
- Lead small project teams as required
- Mentor junior team members and improve team practices
- Make tactical and strategic trade-offs while solving complex problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Typically requires 5+ years of progressive experience
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in the job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines
- Current knowledge of emerging technologies, modern full stack development practices, cloud-native patterns, and artificial intelligence trends relevant to investment technology
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and related full stack technologies
- Curiosity about AI and exposure to AI concepts, tools, or platforms
- Experience implementing unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Experience developing data models or schemas; knowledge of ACID, normalization, and transactions
- Ability to debug large components with limited assistance
- Ability to design and develop practical APIs and abstractions
- Preferred: experience supporting Equity, investment management, asset management, capital markets, wealth management, or other front-office financial services technology environments
