About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design control architectures and process optimization strategies
  • Identify opportunities and integrate systems to add value to client operations
  • Prepare and analyze PLC backups to develop control strategies
  • Design linear controllers, such as PID controllers, based on models obtained from response curves or phenomenological process equations
  • Address nonlinearities in actuators, such as valves and variable-speed drives
  • Address process asymmetries
  • Implement dead-time compensation
  • Calculate stability and generate linearization functions
  • Analyze process data to verify project benefits
  • Participate in control and optimization projects for industrial clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in Process Control applications
  • Experience identifying bottlenecks and opportunities in industrial controls and processes
  • Experience participating in field implementations of advanced and/or expert control systems is a plus
  • Experience with MPC and fuzzy controllers is a plus
  • Knowledge of PlantTriage and/or other control-loop management and advanced control software is a plus
  • A completed master’s or doctoral degree is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
  • Interest in technology and innovation in industrial automation
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make decisions in complex situations
  • Strong concentration and ability to work under pressure
