About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the platform
  • Collaborate on platform capabilities using Kubernetes-native patterns and event-driven architectures
  • Drive adoption of platform engineering principles
  • Build reusable abstractions and self-service workflows for internal users
  • Design and implement Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go to automate infrastructure and application lifecycle management
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to platform engineering practices across Data and ML Platform teams
  • Collaborate across teams on platform interfaces, abstractions, and shared infrastructure patterns
  • Support hiring new engineers and set standards for code quality and collaboration
  • Provide advisory support, best practices, and guidance to Data and ML Platform teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience building cloud-native platforms on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience of Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in Go, particularly for backend services, CLIs, or Kubernetes controllers/operators
  • Experience with GitOps and CI/CD systems
  • Understanding of reliable, automated delivery pipelines
  • Understanding of distributed systems and experience designing scalable, resilient architectures
  • Experience building self-service platforms or internal developer platforms (IDPs)
  • Strong focus on developer experience, usability, and reducing cognitive load through abstractions
  • Clear communication and cross-team collaboration
  • Experience with data technologies and processes, such as streaming, batch processes, and large data storage systems (nice to have)
